Land of Make Believe

A long-time host of our families, Land of Make Believe’s founder designed & built with the dream of providing affordable Family fun. No longer would parents be “passive spectators.” They would, in fact, “be kids again,” having as much, if not more fun than their children! Since 1954, we have been exceeding expectations in a clean, safe, and wholesome environment.

Longmeadow Farm

Phyllis and Brad Burke
561 Blairstown Road
Hope, NJ 07844

This couple has been with Haven of Hope since the beginning, having originally donated furniture from the room of their daughter, who died in her 20s. Families pick raspberries here in summer and pumpkins and apples in the fall. They allow Haven of Hope to come free of charge.

Adonis (Cookie) and Irvin Dean

10 Dean Road
Blairstown, NJ 07825

Cookie and her husband own the dairy farm on Dean Road. Her adult son also works the farm.  There are many cows, as well as chickens and turkeys.  It is a working farm and our families can sometimes see a milking and pet the baby calves.

Swayzee Inn Farm

Robert (Bob) and Diane May
1199 Rt. 519
Po Box 349
Hope, NJ 07844

They have adult sheep, lambs, and cows to view.

Warren County Farmers Fair

Becky Hummer, Secretary
165 County Route 519
Belvidere, NJ 07823

They donate admission tickets for two or our families who come during fair week each year.  The family see animals and experience carnival rides and food as well as hot air balloons if the weather cooperates.

Daleo Farms

160 Cedar Lake Road
Blairstown, NJ 07825

This is a family favorite!  A friendly couple who realized their dreams with this farm of rescued animals, including a horse, Sonny, a cow, Emma, mini horses, sheep and goats, all of whom are very people friendly. Sonny is an ex-therapy horse, so he is used to having children on him. All the kids loved riding him.

Sweet Dreams Farm

Bev and Bill Kerrigan
2 Cherry Tree Lane
Blairstown, NJ 07825
(908) 362-7393

Bill and Bev are wonderful people who welcomed Haven of Hope families for many years to get up on their two horses and feed the two donkeys. They now feel they are too old for this, but they want to continue to be involved, so I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a call if you have time to fill and the family would like to visit the two donkeys.
