Haven of Hope for Kids has been hosting cost-free vacations for families caring for a child with a life-threatening illness since the summer of 2005.

Starting in 2015, Haven of Hope for Kids has also been serving families with children on the autistic spectrum.

We have hosted more than 250 guests at our cozy, handicap accessible cottage, located in the heart of scenic Hope, NJ. The cottage is fully furnished, with accommodations for up to eight people. We provide transportation if needed, and money for food and incidentals during each families’ stay.

Families come to Haven of Hope for Kids from Newark, Elizabeth, Jersey City the Bronx and other urban areas in New Jersey. Many of the children are confronting sickle cell anemia, leukemia and various kinds of cancer. Most are at a stage in their treatment where their condition is considered stable and they have few limitations on what they can do. They are kids with energy, courage, and great determination to enjoy their lives. These children and their families have taught us a great deal about faith, hope, and the power of love.

We also welcome families who have suffered the death of a child in the past year and who are in need of healing, as well as health care professionals from the participating hospitals, who are often themselves under considerable stress.
